The Spanish Association of Energy Recovery from Municipal Solid Waste (AEVERSU), chaired by Rafael Guinea, is to host the Ninth Congress and General Assembly of the Confederation of European Waste-to-Energy Plants (CEWEP) in 2018. It will take place in Bilbao, the location of the Zabalgarbi energy recovery plant, one of the 11 facilities forming part of AEVERSU.

This was announced in Rotterdam (Holland) during the Eighth CEWEP Congress, which took place from 15 to 17 June, entitled “Circular Economy Meets Energy Union”. Guinea is also vice-chairman of CEWEP.

More than 200 professionals are expected to meet at the next event, together with European sustainable waste management experts and important representatives of the European Commission.
